Movenpick Resort & Spa-Dead Sea is a village situated in a lush tropical garden. It is located on the banks of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth (about 425 ft. below sea level). The resort is a family vacation resort in the center of many historical sites. Jordan has a rich history and there are many historical sites convenient to the Movenpick Resort & Spa-Dead Sea.
*Baptism Site (9.32 miles) Approximately 9.32 miles for the resort is the site that for two millennia has been identified as the spot where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. There is a baptism pool available for use at the site.
*Crusaders Historic Site-Building (62 miles) The Crusades of legends and folklore and another group of castles are found along the King's Highway. Remains of Crusader forts and outposts are also along the highway, with Karak and Shobak being the most important of them all.
*Desert Castles Archaeological (62 miles) The deserts of Jordan are filled with ancient castles, forts and caravanserai. Many of them date back to the first half of the 8th Century. Amra Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
*Jerash (68 miles) Ruins of temples, baths, colonnaded streets and arches in a state of preservation. A Roman Army battle reinactment is staged several days per week. The Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts is held each summer.
*Lot's Cave Historical Site-Building (65 miles) This is one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in Jordan. It is located near modern Safi. It is stated that Lot and his daughters are sought refuge in a cave after God destroyed the city of Sodom.
*Mount Nebo (28 miles) This is the presumed burial site of the phophet Moses. Early Christians built a large complex there and it remains an active monastery. It provides a breathtaking view of the Jordan Valley.
The Movenpick Resort & Spa-Dead Sea's Cancellation, No-Show & Turn Away Policy: Cancellation made 40 to 22 days of arrival shall pay 50% of one night's room and tax rate. Reservations made 21 to 8 days of arrival shall pay 75% of one night's room and tax rate. For reservations not canceled by 12:01 of the seventh day prior to arrival date shall pay one night's room and tax rate. During the following periods an 80% forfeiture shall apply for No-shows: 03/11/10 to 05/23/10 & 09/06/10 to 10/31/10.
